Our Services - Frequently Asked Questions |
How long have you been in business?
Complete Music has been in business since 1973, but locally Complete Music has operated in this area since 1989. During that time we can happily boast THOUSANDS of happy clients!
How can I tell if a DJ company is legitimate or "amateurs posing as professionals ?"
• Contracts: if the DJ doesn't offer it, don't hire them!
• Insurance: Liability insurance does not dictate the quality of the DJ, but it does point towards the DJ's level of professionalism .
• Legal, Licensed Music : DJ's who download or share music without paying for EACH AND EVERY track is operating outside the law. Check out http://www.riaa.com/issues/copyright/default.asp
• Training : Can you name any profession that does not require initial or ongoing training? When was the last time you hired a lawyer, doctor, plumber, or mechanic who was "self-taught?"
• Is the DJ a member of the American Disc Jockey Association or the National Association of Mobile Entertainers? Check it out at www.adja.org
When do we do the planning?
Typically we suggest 30-45 days out. If you want a member of our DJ or Office Staff to meet with you personally, we would be happy to do so. We ask that you contact our office and make an appointment.
Can you do weekend appointments?
Weekend consultations are very rare for us. We ask that you consider that on the date of your event, you want us concentrating on you, not our clients two weeks from now... So do our clients for this weekend! Exceptions can be made, but that is mostly done with DJ's who are not already assigned to events, and are available. That is a tough combination. Therefore, we make every effort to meet during office hours, if possible. If you live out of town, don't fret... that is WHY we make room for exceptions!
Will I get to meet the DJ that does my event?
Yes, but with an asterisk! We make every attempt to make sure that you get to meet with the DJ that does your event. The exception is that if you don't live in the metro area, it might be difficult to do a face to face appointment. For our rural clients, we will definitely meet "over the phone." Most of our DJ's prefer to meet with you the week of the event.
How do I know which DJ will be at my event?
The easy answer is the one that best suits your crowd. Some clients are more concerned with the specific DJ than others. We rely on our clients to let us know whether or not you want to be involved with the assignment of the DJ that does your event. Priority is given to DJ Generated Bookings, followed by DJ Requests. For an explanation of the difference between DJGB and DJR, please call the office.
Our goal is to make sure your plans are known and followed. If your expectations are different that what we typically do, then please know that we are only too happy to adjust our performance to meet you needs. As long as you let us know what you expect, we will make sure you get what you ask for! |
